Kigali is on an upward curve and I was shocked to see how many expats had chosen to live there to be honest I was taken back by how developed it was (I guess I also have internal conflict when it comes to preconceptions of cities/countries that have endeavoured tough times.

These best things to do in Kigali are of course my personal preference and I have quite an acquired taste.

Visit The Genocide Museum
Much like a visit to Auschwitz in Poland the first stop to try and understand recent Rwandan (sadly) is a visit to The Genocide Museum.
It stands as a solemn reminder of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, a tragic event that claimed the lives of over a million people. The museum is not just a place of remembrance but also an educational journey into the country’s tumultuous history.

It might pale in comparison to some of the mammoth parks on the African continent, Akagera National Park, where enough majestic beauties are hiding or hunting for wildlife enthusiasts and adventure seekers.
