This year’s series of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me out of Here!’ is well underway and favourites for the competition are becoming clearer. According to the I’m A Celebrity betting odds, football manager Harry Redknapp is the favourite to become the King of the Jungle.
Like most series, there have been some memorable moments, but they struggle to live up to the following classic moments:
Paul Burrell’s “Hell Holes” reaction
Arguably the most iconic moment in the show’s history came from Paul Burrell. The former royal butler competed in the 2004 series, finishing as runner-up, but he’ll be remembered by fans thanks to his reaction in a bushtucker trial. Taking part in the “Hell Holes” trial, Burrell completely lost it as he touched a number of creepy crawlies. Although it isn’t the worst trial on the show, his reaction ensures that it won’t be forgotten any time soon.
Scarlett Moffatt wants a chicken kebab
It’s not just Paul Burrell who went viral following some interesting reactions in the bushtucker trials. Back in the 2012 series, Scarlett Moffatt and her fellow contestants screamed their heads off as they laid in a box whilst being covered in thousands of creepy crawlies such as rats, spiders, and cockroaches. In an attempt to calm everyone’s nerves, one of the campmates encouraged the group to yell out what they’d like to eat if they were at home. This led to the iconic “I just want a chicken kebab” line from Moffatt.
Gillian McKeith faints on live TV
After seeing the reactions of both Burrell and Moffatt, it’s easy to see why the majority of contestants would prefer to not take part in a bushtucker trial if possible. After a few minutes of terror, the majority of contestants manage to get over it and go ahead with their challenge. However, Gillian McKeith didn’t get the chance to do this after fainting live on TV shortly after being nominated for the trial.
Christopher Biggins makes a new friend
Considering that the campmates spent a few weeks in a jungle filled with wildlife, it should be no surprise that a few creatures will find their way into the camp. Television presenter Christopher Biggins found this out in the worst way possible back in the 2007 series. Although he ended up winning the series, his most iconic moment came about halfway through the series. Whilst he was sleeping, a rat managed to find climb onto his leg. Unfortunately for the presenter, he originally thought it was a water bottle before finding out the mistake that he made.
Joey Essex learns to tell the time
Everyone that is familiar with Joey Essex will know that he isn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. The TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) star made some unbelievable comments whilst in the jungle by mistaking a lizard for a dragon, and admitting to his campmates that he didn’t know how to blow his nose. However, his most memorable moment came when he admitted that he wasn’t able to read the time on an analogue clock! Fortunately, fellow campmate Amy Willerton was there to help him finally understand how to tell the time using an analogue clock.
