A Perfect 30th Birthday in Hong Kong

1803 2

For my 30th birthday I decided to spend a few days in Hong Kong, and to also make sure I squeezed in an extreme sports travel challenge in neighbouring Macau during that time. I did the jump and I treated myself to a swanky hotel for my birthday. They forgot to pick me up at the airport, and I was pissed off.

But they did bring me a surprise chocolate birthday cake when noticing my day of birth on my passport, so I instantly forgave them – being the fickle chocolate-slut that I am.

Hong Kong is not the place for budget travellers. It’s a concrete jungle for business travel. I was impressed by the place and enjoyed strolling around Hong Kong Park, drinking high tea at the Peninsula and watching the awesome Filipino live bands on a night time in Kowloon.

Hong Kong is pretty swanky, very clean and makes the perfect stopover city. I’ll definitely be back. What a wonderful way to earmark a landmark birthday. 🙂

So awesome that you did the Macau Bungee!! I was in Macau 2 weeks ago, but I couldn’t afford the jump. I know that I’ll do it next time!
